WASHINGTON, D.C. – August 29, 2014 – (RealEstateRama) — Open to the general public and featuring a slate of world-renowned speakers and guests, MBI’s September Modular Construction Summit will feature an afternoon of education on the benefits of utilizing modular processes in construction projects.
Modular Construction Summit, September 17, 2014, 1pm-5pmCharlottesville, VA — The Modular Building Institute is pleased to announce the speakers, agenda, and specials guests at the Modular Construction Summit on September 17 in San Francisco, California. Held in partnership with the California College of the Arts, the Modular Summit is an afternoon session of presenters including modular builders, traditional builders, architects, engineers, professors, students, and more who will be discussing current topics and trends in modular construction. This event is open to the general public and is free for CCA students and professors.
An expedited schedule, lower costs, and the ability to more efficiently produce quality structures has made offsite, modular construction a valued building solution for decades. With curiosity about this process at an all-time high as developers turn to the method with growing enthusiasm, the Modular Construction Summit will address common questions like, “Do modular buildings last as long as site-built?”, “Are they environmentally sustainable?”, “Can they be as attractive as their traditionally-built counterparts?” While the answer to all of these questions is yes, the Summit will provide an opportunity for people to find out exactly why – and receive education and answers on many more issues.
Speakers and special guests will include personalities that have done much to shape the commercial modular industry worldwide: Lad Dawson, CEO of Guerdon Enterprises; Curtis Fletcher, Regional Business Development Manager, Guerdon Modular Buildings; Peter Anderson, Associate Professor of Architecture at California College of the Arts and Principal at Anderson Anderson Architecture; Mark Anderson, Professor of Architecture at University of California Berkeley and Principal at Anderson Anderson Architecture; Mauricio Soto, Assistant Professor of Architecture at California College of the Arts and Founder of Studio for Lightweight Design; Taeko Takagi, Vice President og Product Design & Development at ZETA Design+Build; Ralph Tavares, Principal at R&S Tavares Associates; and Pedro Tavares, Project Manager at R&S Tavares Associates.
