23rd Annual Evening With The Stars Of Energy Efficiency Awards Dinner Highlights Achievements Of Long-Term Leaders And Innovative Newcomers In Energy Efficiency

WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 18, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The Alliance to Save Energy is proud to host the 23rd annual Evening with the Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards Dinner at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. This year’s Awards Dinner, affectionately referred to as the ‘Energy Prom’, welcomes 400 key players and influencers within the energy efficiency field to gather and celebrate the achievements of individuals, companies and policymakers. Following U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz’s launch of the Accelerate Energy Productivity 2030 Roadmap, the Secretary is closing out an important day for energy productivity by recognizing further industry achievements as an award presenter.

“The impressive achievements of this year’s award winners and the opportunity to mingle with energy efficiency’s elite have inspired excellent attendance and sponsorship of the Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards Dinner. In addition to the outstanding support of this 23rd iteration of the Awards Dinner, this year’s new award categories, which recognize individuals for early-career accomplishments in efficiency, also show the field is continually advancing thanks to new and innovative ideas. I can’t imagine a more powerful message than the recognition of what these companies and individuals are doing to ensure an energy-efficient future!” said Alliance to Save Energy President Kateri Callahan.

Along with the award recipients announced in June, Dr. Kandeh Yumkella, former CEO of Sustainable Energy for All, is receiving the Charles H. Percy Award for Public Service and IBM Corporation’s Vice President of Corporate Environmental Affairs and Product Safety Wayne Balta is accepting Senator Jeanne Shaheen’s Chairman’s Award on behalf of IBM.

Dr. Kandeh Yumkella said, “It is only through continued work across sectors that we will be able to take advantage of all available opportunities to advance energy efficiency. It is an honor to be recognized by the Alliance to Save Energy tonight, and I will continue my work to support efficiency for the benefit of all world citizens.”
