Alliance Commends EPA For Championing Equity With Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund Program
WASHINGTON – RealEstateRama – The Alliance to Save Energy released the following statement from President Paula Glover in response to the guidance from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.
“The Alliance to Save Energy commends the EPA for reaching this important milestone and advancing progress on implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund,” said Glover. “The two competitive grants announced today include $7 billion to facilitate residential and community solar, residential storage, and related upgrades — and an additional $20 billion designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lower energy costs for consumers.”
“Importantly, both programmatic arms of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund specifically target low-income and disadvantaged communities, with a total investment of $15 billion for underserved areas – helping to ensure that the IRA delivers on a just energy transition. We look forward to our continued engagement with EPA on this unprecedented program to lift communities though investments in energy efficiency, renewables, and other emission reduction strategies.”
