ASHFORD SUPPORTS EXPANSIVE BIPARTISAN ENERGY BILL

Ashford voted in support of H.R. 8, the North American Energy Security and Infrastructure Act of 2015. The bill streamlines the federal approval process for hydroelectric generation facilities and natural gas transmission lines. The legislation also improves the Department of Energy’s ability to coordinate with other agencies to strengthen our electrical power grid system and requires the Energy Department to expedite decisions on pending applications to export Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)
