EPA to hold five public meetings in Idaho focusing on IDEQ seeking water quality...

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is accepting public comments on the State of Idaho’s application to assume the role of writing, administering and enforcing water quality discharge permits in the state. Until now, the job of writing wastewater and stormwater discharge permits, performing facility inspections and otherwise enforcing the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (part of the federal Clean Water Act) has been the sole responsibility of federal authorities at EPA.

EPA/TCEQ Harvey Update: Air Quality Improving, More Water Systems Operational

EPAs Grant of $2,536,800 to South Carolina will Support Efforts to Improve and Protect...

EPA awards $1.1 million to Idaho to protect drinking water sources

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced it awarded a total of $1.1 million in two-year grant funding for 2016-2018 to the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality to protect underground sources of drinking water from leaking underground petroleum storage tanks.

New EPA Tool Helps Communities Access More Than $10 Billion in Water Infrastructure Financing

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is launching the Water Finance Clearinghouse, a web?based portal to help communities make informed financing decisions for their drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure needs. EPA WATERS Award Lauds Innovative and Effective Regional Drinking Water Improvements

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 10 recently honored four Pacific Northwest communities for excellence in providing safe drinking water to the public by using the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund program. The communities of Stevens County (Mission Ridge), WA, and Ashland, Baker City and Garibaldi, OR received this recognition after being nominated by their respective states.

EPA Partners with North Carolina to Protect Drinking Water

Annual Report Card Shows Water Quality Improvements in Parts of the Mystic River Watershed

Each year, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in collaboration with the Mystic River Watershed Association (MyRWA), issues a Water Quality Report Card on water quality in the Mystic River watershed. Since 2015, EPA has utilized an enhanced, locally-specific analysis of water quality in the watershed that gives grades for 14 river segments or tributaries.

U.S. EPA Awards $91,000 to Groundwork San Diego to Educate Students and Community on...

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded a $91,000 environmental education grant to Groundwork San Diego - Chollas Creek to develop and implement a water use and conservation curriculum. The project will improve environmental literacy and stewardship in the Encanto community in southeastern San Diego, and is expected to reach at least 560 students, 24 educators and 50 community members.
