Pocket talker devices are reliable and easy-to-use sound amplifiers designed for individuals who are unable to afford standard hearing aids.

Mercy Housing Northwest, in partnership with Paul G. Allen Philanthropies, the City of Seattle, and the Seattle Seahawks, broke ground on the Mount Baker Family Housing & Resource Center. The National Real Estate Practice of EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants announced the contribution of over $40,000 to the Chamblee Senior Residences to enhance the community kitchen and offer healthy cooking demonstration classes for residents. In addition, the contribution will fund “train the trainer” course on slip-and-fall prevention classes for the senior residents, one of the most common accidents for seniors at home.

Aeris has upgraded Mercy Loan Fund (MLF) from AA to AA+ on the standard Wall Street scale, putting MLF in the top 15% of rated Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI). MLF’s rating has increased three levels in the past two years. Thanks to the BCER Group and Wish for Wheels, two Colorado organizations, dozens of children living at Parkside Apartments in Denver, Colorado now have bikes! On August 11, 2017, BCER Engineering, a Colorado-based engineering firm, partnered with Wish for Wheels, a nonprofit that gives bikes to kids from low-income families, to build 25 bikes for the children living at Parkside Apartments, a Mercy Housing community in Denver, Colorado.

Mercy Housing Lakefront announced today that it will begin accepting applications on September 5, 2017 for River Station Senior Apartments, a 70-unit affordable housing development in Kankakee designed for low-to-moderate-income seniors. Part of a broad community revitalization strategy in a key area of downtown Kankakee, the project is a collaboration between Mercy Housing Lakefront, the Kankakee County Housing Authority (KCHA), Presence St. Mary’s Hospital and the City of Kankakee.
