NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, recently honored 18 NAIOP chapters and three individuals with the association’s coveted Chapter Merit Awards. Recognizing the best in special events, publications, membership, legislative advocacy and more, the Chapter Merit Awards are presented annually at NAIOP’s Chapter Leadership & Legislative Retreat in Washington, D.C. Recipients are selected by a committee of their peers comprised of volunteer judges.

Marc Selvitelli, CAE, has been named as senior vice president for NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, effective February 13, 2017. In this role, Selvitelli will guide the association’s staff, chapters and volunteers to execute NAIOP’s mission of providing education, advocacy and connections to 18,000+ members in 51 chapters across North America. He will oversee the association’s daily business operations and serve as executive director of NAIOP’s Research Foundation.

NAIOP is committed to the next generation of CRE leadership and increasing diversity in commercial real estate. We are proud to continue our scholarship program for students pursuing a degree which will lead to a career in the commercial real estate industry. Preference will be given to students who have been traditionally under-represented in the commercial real estate field.

Frank Wuest died on August 13, 2016, while participating in a fundraising swim in Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island. At the time of his passing, Frank was president of Marcus Partners in Boston, Massachusetts, having established a successful career in real-estate investment and development

The annual award honors up-and-coming professionals under the age of 35 for their exemplary professional accomplishments, strong leadership and community involvement.
