As a result, the construction firm was one of 13 organizations nationwide to win the AGC in the Community Award from the charitable arm of the Associated General Contractors of America, AGC Charities, Inc.
“Firms like this show what our industry is all about,” said Tom Brown, president of San Diego, Calif.-based Sierra Pacific West, Inc. and the president of AGC Charities. “They’re not only building great construction projects, they’re building a better tomorrow for those in need.”
Clark’s BRAC Initiative Community Service Project, provided services to improve the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of the six impacted military communities across the country. In addition, Clark hosted mentor and protégé days to provide training opportunities for wounded soldiers. Other service activities included civilian blood drives where they collected over 300 pints of blood, food drives, Toys for Tots campaigns and “Friday Night Dinners.” In total, Clark personnel donated hundreds of volunteer hours and $95,000 over the course of the project to local charities, schools and other military organizations.
