Washington, D.C. – June 5, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) commends the House Energy and Commerce Committee for approving the TSCA Modernization Act of 2015 by a unanimous vote of 47-0. Introduced by Reps. John Shimkus (R-IL), Fred Upton (R-MI), Frank Pallone (D-NJ) and Paul Tonko (D-NY), this bipartisan bill will revise the 40-year-old Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) to ensure the federal chemical regulatory system is updated for the modern era.

“The recent bipartisan activity in the House and Senate to improve TSCA shows the ability of Republicans, Democrats and diverse stakeholders to come together to push for much-needed reform,” said BPC President Jason Grumet. “BPC now encourages the full House and Senate to continue the bipartisan efforts to update the law to achieve greater public health protections.”
