EIA’s AEO2017 projects the United States as a net energy exporter in most cases
Annual Energy Outlook 2017 (AEO2017), released today by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), presents updated projections for U.S. energy markets through 2050 based on eight cases (Reference, Low and High Economic Growth, Low and High Oil Price, Low and High Oil and Gas Resource and Technology, No Clean Power Plan implementation). This is the first time that EIA is publishing projections through 2050 in the AEO tables.

Survey: Commercial and Multifamily Originators Expect Strong, Steady Market in 2017
Commercial and multifamily mortgage lending is expected to increase in 2017, as lenders' appetites to place new loans and borrowers' appetites to borrow both remain strong, according to a new Mortgage Bankers Association survey of the top commercial and multifamily mortgage origination firms. Nearly two-thirds (63 percent) of the top firms expect originations to increase in 2017, with one-quarter (26 percent) expecting an increase of 5 percent or more. A full half (50 percent) expect their own firm's originations to increase by 5 percent or more

As part of the Manufacturing USA initiative, today the Energy Department announced its new Reducing Embodied-energy and Decreasing Emissions (REMADE) Institute, which will be headquartered in Rochester, New York and led by the Sustainable Manufacturing Innovation Alliance. Meridian Buys 105,000 SF Office Building in San Mateo County for $29 Million
Meridian, a full-service office property developer in California, is pleased to announce the purchase of 1000 Marina, a six-story 105,000-square-foot office building in San Mateo County, Calif. The seller was TA Associates, a private equity firm based in Boston, Massachusetts. Meridian paid just under $29 million for the 90%-leased building located in the Sierra Point Submarket in the city of Brisbane. The purchase closed in the final week of 2016 and represented Meridian’s second major office transaction in northern California since September when the firm sold The Atrium, a 77,000-square-foot office building in Pleasanton.
