Electrical Training Manager Named ABC National Craft Instructor of the Year
WASHINGTON, D.C. – March 19, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) has named Jonathan Sacks of Palmyra, Maine, as its Craft Instructor of the Year. Sacks currently works as a transmission and distribution training manager atCIANBRO in Pittsfield, Maine. He received the honor March 6 during ABC’s National Craft Championships (NCC) and Workforce Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Our industry has a well-documented shortage of skilled labor and the commitment of instructors such as Jon will go a long way in providing America with its next generation of skilled craft professionals.”
Sacks is an alumnus of the University of Maine and master electrician by trade who has also worked as a public school teacher in Maine.
He began his career with CINABRO in 1993 as an electrician/foreman and has since risen to his current role where his duties include developing and coordinating training efforts for all transmission, distribution and substation needs and helping to create curriculum and execute training. He also holds a Master Trainer certification from NCCER.
In addition to his role training craft workers at CIANBRO, Sacks actively serves as a volunteer board member for the Down East Construction Education Foundation and the NCCER Workforce Development Board and sits on a number of advisory committees for several local high school CTE programs.
Each year, ABC presents the Craft Instructor of the Year Award to an instructor who possesses outstanding creativity, a positive attitude, and the ability to transfer knowledge through communications skills and innovative teaching to promote lifelong learning to our future workforce. The recipient of this national award best embodies the merit shop ideals through superior effort and talent. Sacks is the third CIANBRO craft trainer to win the honor.
As the 2015 Craft Instructor of the Year, Sacks received a $10,000 cash prize from the NCCER and the Trimmer Construction Education Foundation.
