WASHINGTON, DC – May 31, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Financial and nonprofit veteran Kenny Emson has been named Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration for the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC). As a member of the Council’s senior leadership team, Emson will oversee the organization’s financial and administrative operations and will participate in the strategic planning process.

Emson brings more than 20 years of experience to the position, including serving as Chief Development Officer, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region, a philanthropic nonprofit that pools $350 million in charitable donations to make grants that benefit both Washington-area and national charities.

“We are delighted to add Kenny as a member of our senior management team,” said Doug Bibby, NMHC’s President. “He brings extensive financial and organizational management skills to the Council, having helped his prior employer grow from $50 million in assets to $350 million and supervising the growth of the staff from 10 to 26. I look forward to working with him to take NMHC to the next level.”

A native of England, Emson is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The George Washington University. He replaces Susan Guthrie, who is retiring after 10 years of exceptional service to NMHC.
