GSA Awards Strategically Sourced Building Maintenance and Operations Multiple-Award Contracts
WASHINGTON, D.C. – March 14, 2016 – (RealEstateRama) — The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded 33 contracts for its new Building Maintenance and Operations (BMO) Zone 1 strategic sourcing solution. 24 of the contracts were set aside specifically for small businesses under BMO SB. This multiple award solution gives government agencies a more streamlined process for acquiring facility maintenance and operations services, including electrical maintenance, janitorial, landscaping, fire alarm and suppression system maintenance, commissioning and more.
“From HVAC maintenance to plumbing services, pest control, elevator inspection, and everything in between — these new BMO awards provide federal agencies with a fast, flexible and reliable way to obtain best value solutions for their complex Building Maintenance and Operations Services requirements, while at the same time cutting their administrative costs and reducing the need for additional duplicative contracts, ” said Mary Ruwwe, GSA’s FAS Heartland Region Commissioner and Facilities and Construction Category Manager.
BMO and BMO SB offer reduced administrative costs and more flexibility with task orders, improved visibility on spending and pricing and standardized labor categories, which Mary Ruwee says leads to more accurate price comparisons. “They will help customer agencies by allowing for comparison shopping and minimize pricing variances. And standardized vendor reporting will allow for better spend tracking which will let agencies know where efficiencies can be maximized.”
The BMO solution includes two multiple-award, indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity (MA-IDIQ) task order contract vehicles with $15 billion ceilings. Awards were made to the highest rated firms offering a fair and reasonable price. Two companies, WW Contractors, Inc. and ACEPEX Management Corporation, were awarded contracts under both the BMO Unrestricted and BMO SB vehicles.
