Hodgdon Group Negotiates Purchase and Completes Major Renovation of Former Wickes in Santa Clarita, Calif. for Ashley Furniture HomeStore
Ashley Furniture HomeStore opens today
COLTON, CA – July 1, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Inland Empire-based Hodgdon Group, a full-service real estate brokerage, development and construction team, announced today that it has completed the conversion of the former Wickes Furniture building at the Centre Pointe Marketplace in Santa Clarita, Calif., for the opening of an Ashley Furniture HomeStore on July 1, 2011.
Hodgdon Realty Group negotiated the purchase of the former 41,850-square-foot Wickes building for $3.7 million on behalf of Ashley Furniture. The seller, C-III Loan Asset Management, was represented by Matthew Sullivan, a managing director with Lee & Associates-Investment Services Group in downtown Los Angeles.
Hodgdon-Miank Construction served as the design-build contractor and completed the renovation for the new Ashley Furniture HomeStore. The Hodgdon Group has been working with Ashley for a decade on various real estate and construction projects.
The new Ashley Furniture HomeStore is located at 26520 Carl Boyer Drive in the Centre Pointe Marketplace. The 650,000-square-foot Centre Pointe Marketplace is anchored by Walmart Supercenter, Sam’s Club, LA Fitness and Home Depot.
As the full-service design-build contractor, Hodgdon-Miank Construction was responsible for hiring the architect and engineering firms and working with the City of Santa Clarita and the County of Los Angeles to obtain the necessary entitlements and permits, as well as perform major renovations to the former Wickes Furniture building.
“The City of Santa Clarita was terrific in fast-tracking approvals to accommodate our very compressed construction schedule,” said Aaron Hodgdon, president of Hodgdon Group. “TIs were done in six weeks.”
Mike Flynn of KTGY Group, Inc. served as the project architect. Hodgdon-Miank Construction’s Dan Wallner was the project manager; and Thom Duncan served as the superintendent.
