House Appropriations Committee Approves FY2017 Energy and Water Appropriations Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — The House Appropriations Committee approved by voice vote this week a fiscal year (FY) 2017 Energy and Water Appropriations bill totaling $37.4 billion, $259 million above the enacted FY2016 level and $168 million above the President’s budget request.  The bill includes the following funding allocations for federal-state regional commissions:

  • Appalachian Regional Commission: $146 million, level with the FY2016 enacted level and $26 million above the President’s budget request;
  • Delta Regional Authority: $15 million, $10 million below the FY2016 enacted level and $1 million above the President’s budget request;
  • Denali Commission: $11 million, level with the FY2016 enacted level and $4 million below the President’s budget request;
  • Northern Border Regional Commission: $5 million, $2.5 million below the FY2016 enacted level and level with the President’s budget request;
  • Southeast Crescent Regional Commission: $250,000, level with the FY2016 enacted amount and the President’s budget request.
