Housing Trust Funds Should be Kept and Used Locally

Trenton, NJ – June 11, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Municipal officials across the State support legislation to extend the deadline to “commit to expend” municipal housing trust fund dollars. This is funding that is collected by municipalities to help towns meet their affordable housing obligations and provide funding that does not rely on the property tax. Loss of these resources would require municipalities to find other funding to help meet their obligations, including the property tax.
