Mayor Kasim Reed Appoints Faye DiMassimo as New Renew Atlanta Infrastructure Program General Manager
ATLANTA – November 4, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Mayor Kasim Reed announced today that Faye DiMassimo will serve as the new General Manager for the $250 million Renew Atlanta infrastructure bond program. In this new role, DiMassimo will oversee the design, construction and completion of more than two hundred transportation and municipal facility projects, including construction of the new Martin Luther King, Jr. Natatorium in the Historic Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. The Renew Atlanta infrastructure bond program was approved by more than eight in ten voters in a special election held on March 17, 2015.
DiMassimo has served as the Director of the Cobb County Department of Transportation for nearly six years, where she has overseen a $36 million operating budget with more than 160 staff. DiMassimo brings a strong track record of execution, expert technical knowledge and proven leadership skills to the City of Atlanta.
“Faye DiMassimo has a valuable skillset and a proven ability to manage complex programs. She will bring her ability to work strategically across disciplines and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders as we execute on more than two hundred infrastructure repair and upgrade projects,” said Mayor Reed. “The Renew Atlanta infrastructure bond program is the single largest investment in the look, feel and experience of the city in modern times. Faye DiMassimo will ensure we execute this program on time and on budget. Faye has my confidence, and the residents of the City of Atlanta can be confident in her as well.”
In the months since the infrastructure bonds were approved, the City of Atlanta has broken ground on street resurfacing of Lynhurst Drive at Cascade Road SW, and has advanced substantial work on procurement and initial planning and design on dozens of projects.
“It is an honor to join Mayor Kasim Reed’s administration to lead the City of Atlanta’s program to address pressing infrastructure needs. There is no greater investment to be made in our future economic success than that of Renew Atlanta,” said DiMassimo. “Working with the City’s leadership team and in partnership with our business community, I have no doubt we will meet and exceed program delivery expectations in a transparent and performance-driven manner.”
DiMassimo has extensive experience in the metropolitan Atlanta region and in the Montgomery, AL metropolitan area, in both the private and public sectors. DiMassimo holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Public Administration and a Master’s in Community Planning, all from Auburn University. She will begin her new role with the City of Atlanta in early December.
