WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 29, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Less than a month after opening its doors in Taylor, TX, McCoy’s Building Supply announces plans to expand in 2013. The company has broken ground on its newest building supply store in Floresville, Texas, a dynamic community 40 miles southeast of San Antonio.
Construction has begun on Hwy 181 North across from Wal-Mart and the company plans to open its doors in July 2013. Once completed, the site will include 18,000 square feet of retail space and a 22,000 square foot drive-through lumberyard.
The south central Texas location and the warmth of the community influenced McCoy’s decision to put down roots in Floresville, as did the positive economic growth seen in the area over the past decade. “McCoy’s has been considering the area south of San Antonio for several years,” explains Phil Hutchinson, Real Estate Manager. “With steady population growth and the oil and gas boom along the Eagle Ford Shale, we felt now was the time to enter that market.”
McCoy’s reputation as a friendly, hometown lumberyard should serve the close-knit community of Floresville well. As a retailer passionate about serving independent homebuilders, contractors, and serious do-it-yourselfers, the company strives to provide customers with the products they need while being committed to the people and communities they serve. McCoy’s believes its unique culture is what sets it apart from the competition. “We don’t just say we’re customer-oriented, we are,” shares President and CEO Brian McCoy. “We’re passionate about making sure each and every customer gets our full attention, regardless of the size of his or her project that day.”
Known for its innovative farm and ranch product lines, McCoy’s was also attracted to the town known as the “Peanut Capital of Texas”. As a market hub for area peanut, small grain and cattle producers, Floresville is a great fit for McCoy’s Farm and Ranch Outfitters products and services.
McCoy’s is one of the nation’s largest privately held building supply retailers. It has provided quality building products and services to its “Born-to-Build” customers since 1927 and has earned the loyalty of builders, contractors, ranchers and serious do-it-yourselfers across five states. The company is headquartered in San Marcos, TX and headed by owner and CEO, Brian McCoy. McCoy’s employs 2,000 people and operates 84 stores and two millwork facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi and New Mexico. They can be found online at www.mccoys.com.
