McMorris Rodgers Supports America’s Water Infrastructure
WASHINGTON – (RealEstateRama) — House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released the following statement after the House passed the America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018, sponsored by the Chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Bill Shuster. The America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018 is a reauthorization of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA).
“Today, the People’s House is keeping our promise to the American people to rebuild and improve our nation’s critical infrastructure. The America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018 will strengthen our nation’s ports, dams, and waterways that drive commerce and support jobs. I was proud to support this bill, and I thank Chair Shuster for his work on it to help tackle the backlog of water projects, reduce long-term costs, streamline burdensome regulations, and improve safety and quality of life for the American people.”
Note: America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018 includes the Chair’s sixth bill of the year that will be sent to the President’s desk to become law. Her bill will authorize a land transfer between the Port of Whitman and the Army Corps of Engineers. In addition, this infrastructure bill also includes a provision from the Chair’s Hydropower Policy Modernization Act of 2017 (H.R. 3043), which passed the House with bipartisan support in November 2017. It promotes early action, infrastructure, and improvements at non-federal dams. CLICK HERE to learn more.
