SACRAMENTO, Calif. – March 20, 2018 – Nadel Architects (Nadel), an international architectural design firm headquartered in Los Angeles, has hired Mark Brower as studio director, spearheading the firm’s education, health care and Native American community design studios. Based in Sacramento, Brower brings more than 30 years of experience in architecture and construction, specializing in facilities for education, health care and Native American communities, broadening Nadel’s range of expertise and further bolstering the firm’s presence in Northern California.

“This market presents the opportunity for immense growth in the health care, education and government sectors,” said Herb Nadel, founder and CEO of Nadel. “Mark’s impressive track record, range of experience and knowledge of the area make him a perfect fit for developing our portfolio in Northern California.”

Brower’s experience consists of a variety of notable projects, including the four-story Tulare Regional Medical Center in Tulare, California and the construction management of Westlake Charter School in Sacramento, California. As a member of the Navajo Nation, Brower has also worked on a number of projects aimed at improving infrastructure for Native American communities. This work includes the Feather River Tribal Health Center in Oroville, California – a 41,000-square-foot project consolidating six separate, outdated facilities under one roof that now offers medical, dental and behavioral health services in addition to meeting spaces for elders.

“I’ve had the unique opportunity to serve a wide variety of demographics from the distinctive cultures of multiple Native American tribes, to students ranging from elementary school through college, to patients and staff across the spectrum of health care,” said Brower. “I look forward to applying my diverse experience to help build Nadel’s already impressive portfolio.”

Prior to joining Nadel, Brower served as construction manager at Vanir Construction Management, Inc. in Sacramento. His previous experience also includes serving as owner and president of Brower Design Group and the health care and K-12 studio director at NTD Architecture.

Brower is actively involved with the California Society of Healthcare Engineering (CSHE) and is a current member of several other professional organizations, including the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the Lean Construction Institute (LCI) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Brower earned two bachelor’s degrees in construction management from National University in Sacramento and in computer science from California State University, San Diego.
