NH Delegation Welcomes Nearly $1M to Combat Homelessness in Concord, Merrimack & Belknap Communities

Washington – RealEstateRama – The New Hampshire delegation welcomed $944,406 to New Hampshire to combat housing insecurity. Specifically, the funding supports projects that reduce unsheltered homelessness, especially in high-risk areas and rural communities. Community Action Program Belknap-Merrimack Counties, Inc. Rural SSO Street Outreach will receive $585,366, and the Concord Coalition to End Homeless (CCEH) Resource Center will receive $359,040.

The funding was announced by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Office of Community Planning and Development’s Homeless Assistance Grants program. The funding was reallocated to New Hampshire as unused money from a prior year under the program.

“Granite Staters experiencing homelessness are in critical need of safe and secure housing, especially as the days get colder,” said Congressman Pappas. “This federal funding will help meet the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness in rural communities, and I’ll continue working to deliver resources that will address the housing and homelessness crisis in New Hampshire.”

Organizations like CAP and CCEH are on the frontlines helping individuals experiencing homelessness find safe housing, and I’m pleased this support is heading their way so they can continue their vital work,” said Senator Shaheen. “As we work to connect families with supportive housing, we must commit to investing in a long-term solution to homelessness.”
