Nixon Peabody Names New Long Island Managing Partner; Business Partner & Community Leader Allan Cohen to Lead Jericho Office
Jericho, NY – February 18, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Nixon Peabody LLP is pleased to announce that Allan H. Cohen has been named managing partner of the firm’s Long Island office. Mr. Cohen succeeds Denise Pursley, who now serves as leader of Nixon Peabody’s national real estate practice.

Mr. Cohen’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions of public and private companies, joint ventures and strategic alliances, corporate finance, public and private securities offerings, private equity and venture capital, and organization of new business ventures. He has significant experience representing mature, expansion-stage, and start-up businesses including technology-driven businesses involved with interactive media, computer software and hardware, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, health care, and entertainment. Mr. Cohen is active in advising clients on business issues and strategic planning, and in networking on behalf of clients and assisting them in establishing relationships with financing sources, banks, other professional service providers, and the media.

He is a founder of the New York M&A Council and newly launched Corporate Counsel Community, and serves on the boards of directors of Phoenix House of New York and Phoenix House of Long Island. His numerous affiliations also include membership in the Long Island Angel Network, membership on the Board of Trustees of Simchat HaLev, and committee memberships on several charitable organizations such as the Coalition on Child Abuse and Neglect, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the American Heart Association. Mr. Cohen is a member of the American, New York, and Nassau County bar associations.
