WASHINGTON – RealEstateRama – The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced that Paul Yorkis has been reappointed to the Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee (HCFAC) for an additional three-year term. Yorkis has been a member of the National Association of Realtors® for 34 years and received the NAR Fair Housing Champion Award this year.
“With nearly 34 years as a Realtor®, Paul Yorkis is an exceptional candidate for this re-appointment, and we are proud that one of our own will again be represented on the Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee,” said NAR President Kevin Sears. “This appointment not only showcases Paul’s commitment to our industry, it also underscores NAR’s ongoing collaboration with HUD to help consumers navigate the changing real estate landscape. Paul has diverse experience, including receiving NAR’s Fair Housing Champion Award, serving as president of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors®, and being named Realtor® of the Year by the Greater Boston Association of Realtors®. Paul’s re-appointment is well deserved, and we are confident he will continue to positively impact the future of the housing industry as a member of the HCFAC.”
HUD seeks out those with expertise in the real estate, mortgage, and housing counseling industries in order to fill the panel’s 11-seat board. As a member, Yorkis will provide recommendations and support to the HCFAC in an effort to help families obtain, sustain, and improve their housing through a strong national network of HUD-approved counseling agencies and HUD-certified counselors.
The National Association of Realtors® is America’s largest trade association, representing 1.5 million members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries. The term Realtor® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of Realtors® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.
