NEW YORK, NY – February 6, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Jones Lang LaSalle announced that Peter Riguardi, president of the firm’s New York tri-state region, was selected by The Realty Foundation of New York as the honoree at its 57th Annual Luncheon.

The fundraising event will take place May 10, 2012, in the Grand Ballroom of The Waldorf Astoria hotel, located on Park Avenue at East 50th Street in Midtown. Established in 1954 by the real estate industry, The Realty Foundation is a nonprofit organization that helps real estate professionals in need. Since its inception, the foundation has disbursed more than $3 million to individuals facing financial difficulties. Through its college scholarship program, The Realty Foundation has provided in excess of $3.6 million in scholarship awards.

In late 2011, Riguardi, previously a vice president with the foundation, was unanimously elected as a director.

“REPI is one of the most-respected real estate organizations in Manhattan,” said Riguardi. “It is a privilege to be selected as this year’s honoree by the only nonprofit in the city that exists to help real estate professionals facing financial distress. The Realty Foundation relies on generous contributions from the Manhattan real estate community to continue helping families facing personal hardship.”

Since joining Jones Lang LaSalle in 2002, Riguardi has overseen a dramatic expansion of the company’s platform in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. He now oversees a staff of approximately 1,700 in seven offices throughout the New York tri-state region.

During his three-decade career, Riguardi has been involved in some of the largest transactions in Manhattan, including the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s 1.6 million-square-foot transaction at 2 Broadway, Bank of America?’s 1.5 million-square-foot deal at One Bryant Park and MetLife’s 410,000-square-foot lease at 1095 Avenue of the Americas.
