WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) announced today that it has hired Evelyn Butler to run the trade association’s Codes & Standards work.
Butler comes to SEIA after serving as business development director of Solar/PV, energy and power technologies for UL, a company where she has held several leadership roles for more than 25 years. There, she managed a team that worked with senior internal and external executives to successfully develop business strategies for the energy sector.
Butler’s appointment as director of Codes & Standards demonstrates the commitment that SEIA, and the solar industry, has made to high quality and low cost solar energy.
Standards define the rules under which solar products enter the market and codes govern the way systems are designed and installed.
“Evelyn’s business acumen and vast experience leading renewable divisions will be a great addition to the SEIA team,” said Rhone Resch, SEIA president and CEO. “We are really excited to have a leader of Evelyn’s caliber delivering a strong message for the solar industry on its commitment to codes and standards setting.”
“I am both honored and excited about the opportunity to represent and strengthen SEIA’s members’ position in the codes and standards arena,” Butler said. “I look forward to working with the membership to understand their needs and develop workable solutions that complement the great work that SEIA has already performed in extending solar installations in the U.S.”
Butler will be leading both SEIA’s codes & standards and environment, health and safety initiatives. Her first day was Mar. 25, 2016.
