Readout of Deputy Secretary Graves’ Meeting with the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee

WASHINGTON, D.C. – RealEstateRama – On May 22, Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves met with the Secretary’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee for the final meeting of its seventh charter. Deputy Secretary Graves thanked the Committee for its recommendations over the course of its two-year charter.

The Committee provided several recommendations in areas including: global standards for hydrogen production, labelling carbon content on U.S. energy-intensive products, building a resilient global clean energy supply chain, impact of the Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit in the Inflation Reduction Act on U.S. companies, support for workers in priority energy communities, clean energy supply chain constraints and dependencies, promoting development of virtual power plants in emerging markets, and support to accelerate clean energy investment and exports in island nations.

The Deputy Secretary recognized the importance of the Committee’s work, as it will inform Departmental priorities and efforts to advance the competitiveness of clean energy businesses and workers throughout the United States.

The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee has been rechartered for another two-year term beginning May 24, 2024. It advises the Secretary of Commerce regarding the development and administration of programs and polices to expand the competitiveness of U.S. exports of renewable energy and energy efficiency goods and services.
