Repeal of Clean Power Plan Is Major Setback in Fight Against Climate Change, CAP’s Christy Goldfuss Says
Washington, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — Christy Goldfuss, vice president for Energy and Environment Policy at the Center for American Progress, offered the following response to EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt’s announcement Monday that the administration would repeal the Clean Power Plan:
Powerful hurricanes and devastating wildfires, supercharged by a warming climate, have pummeled the United States in recent months. The sensible and ethical response from President Donald Trump and EPA Administrator Pruitt would be to take urgent action to cut the carbon pollution fueling climate change. Instead, President Trump and Administrator Pruitt have sided with powerful corporations demanding the right to pollute with impunity. This is a brazen abdication of their duty to protect the health and safety of all Americans who are suffering now from the real and undeniable impacts of our changing climate.
