Washington DC – (RealEstateRama) — Randy Noel, chairman of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and a custom home builder from LaPlace, La., issued the following statement regarding the Feb. 7 motion by NAHB and its coalition partners including farmers, miners and foresters to ask the U.S. District Court in Texas to issue a nationwide preliminary injunction on the waters of the United States, or the WOTUS Rule:
“For far too long, our members have been in limbo, and that uncertainty is not good for home buyers or for the national economy. We must protect our nation’s waterways, but in a way that’s defensible and understandable.
“We support the efforts of the Trump Administration to re-craft the rule within the bounds of the Clean Water Act, but we also need certainty that previous Administration’s too-broad interpretation of federal jurisdiction – the flawed 2015 rule – never sees the light of day.”
