USDA Awards First Loans in the Rural Energy Savings Program

Acting Deputy Under Secretary Roger Glendenning today announced that USDA is providing zero-interest loans to two rural energy providers to help business and residential customers lower energy use and costs

Department of Energy Resources Extends Solar Program

The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) announced today plans to extend the Commonwealth’s successful Solar Renewable Energy Credit (SREC 2) program further into 2017 along with a new proposal for a long-term replacement of the program. Since its inception, the SREC 2 program has led Massachusetts to more than 1,600 megawatts of solar development and supported thousands of local jobs, economic investments and a healthier environment for Bay State families and businesses.

HHS awards $17 million to support innovations to strengthen the Federal Home Visiting Program

Today the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced $17 million in funding for the Federal Home Visiting Programs in 13 states. This funding will support Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Federal Home Visiting Program awardees in the development, implementation, and evaluation of innovations to strengthen and improve delivery of coordinated and comprehensive high-quality voluntary services to eligible families

New ULI Program Will Help Commercial Tenants Cut Energy Consumption and Lower Energy Costs

A program to help commercial building tenants cut energy consumption and lower energy costs was announced today by the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Called the Tenant Energy Optimization Program, it is a process that integrates energy efficiency into tenant space design and construction and delivers significant investment returns through energy conservation.

Industry Pans GAO Plan for HUD to Oversee LIHTC

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a report on July 23 recommending that HUD and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) jointly oversee the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. The recommendation came as GAO criticized the IRS’ lack of oversight of the program. This includes the fact that the IRS has only conducted seven audits of the 56 state housing finances agencies that administer the program.

AIA Applauds NCARB Changes to Intern Development Program
