IREC Joins Solar Market Pathways Project
Part of the DOE’s SunShot Initiative, Solar Market Pathways is a $14 million effort to spur solar energy deployment across the country. It provides support to multiple awardees to enhance their efforts to increase solar installations and reduce costs, while promoting to a larger audience best practices in solar planning.
First Nation Launches Solar Project In the Heart of the Oil Sands
This Sunday, the Lubicon Lake Band of Little Buffalo will hold a community feast and ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the installation of an 80 panel, 20.8 kilowatt solar system that will power the adjacent community health centre with the excess fed into the grid. The community owned and operated solar system was built with support from Bullfrog Power, Canadian Energy, Honour the Earth Foundation, W Dusk Energy Group, Greenpeace Canada, and actress/environmentalist Jane Fonda.

CPS Energy announces first community solar project
CPS Energy in San Antonio, Texas, said it has chosen Clean Energy Collective as its vendor for the utility’s first community solar project, according to a July 9 news release. Through the community solar program, residential and commercial electricity customers will be able to purchase panels from the 1.2-megawatt shared facility and receive credits on their electricity bills from CPS Energy.

WASHINGTON, DC - December 21, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- As part of President Obama’s all-of-the-above strategy to expand domestic energy production, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar today announced the release of the Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the McCoy Solar Energy Project, a proposed 750-megawatt facility in Riverside County that would be one of the largest solar energy projects on public lands in the California desert.
