Tri-State Community Health Center and Memphis Health Center Recipients

WASHINGTON – RealEstateRama – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) announced today that Tri-State Community Health Center will receive $1,416,200 and Memphis Health Center will receive $5,370,495 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“This substantial funding for health services for our most vulnerable residents is both timely and welcome. These community health programs meet a critical need. I think it is necessary to point out that Tennessee’s expansion of its Medicaid program, TennCare, would serve many of those who rely on receiving care from community health centers. The state’s failure to do so continues to endanger this population, requires financially strained hospitals to provide high levels of uncompensated care and prevents Tennesseans from full participation in a federal program they are already funding through their tax dollars.”
