Utahn’s Cross Country Bike-Ride for Homelessness Ends with Visit to Senator Hatch
Washington – October 1, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Senator Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, welcomed Utahn Carol Hollowell, the executive director of the Switchpoint Community Resource Center in St. George, in the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday afternoon as she completed a 3,760 mile bike ride across the country to raise awareness about homelessness and poverty.
“Carol is an incredible example of service, and the work she does makes St. George and all of Utah a better place,” Senator Hatch said. “Her impressive management skills have made Switchpoint into a unique, innovative resource center with powerful reach and vast potential to do good in the community. I commend her on her ride, and even more on her years of service to Utahns in need.”
Carol and her husband Bob rode a tandem bike from San Franscisco to Washington D.C., traveling approximately 100 miles a day over 41 days, staying at homeless shelters at night. You can read more about their ride and their work at breakingthecycles.org.
